Thailand Entry Requirements 2025

Everything you need to enter Thailand in 2025: visa, TDAC, passport and health rules.

๐Ÿ“Œ Key 2025 change: Since May 1, 2025, all travelers must complete the TDAC online before entry. This is in addition to standard visa requirements.

Entry Requirements Checklist

  • โœ… Valid passport โ€“ minimum 6 months validity beyond arrival date
  • โœ… TDAC completed โ€“ online at tdac.immigration.go.th (free)
  • โœ… Visa or visa exemption โ€“ based on nationality
  • โœ… Return/onward ticket โ€“ may be checked by airlines/immigration
  • โœ… Proof of accommodation โ€“ hotel booking or address in Thailand
  • โœ… Sufficient funds โ€“ 10,000 THB per person (or 20,000 THB per family)

โš ๏ธ Important: Visa exemption and TDAC are separate requirements. Even visa-exempt travelers must complete the TDAC.

Passport Requirements

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Thailand. It must have at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Damaged or expired passports will be rejected at the border.

Health Requirements

As of 2025, there are no mandatory health certificates or vaccination requirements for entry into Thailand for most nationalities. Check with the Thai Embassy in your country for any updates specific to your nationality or current health regulations.

Customs & Import Rules

Thailand has strict customs rules. Prohibited items include narcotics, firearms (without permit), and certain medications in excess of personal use quantities. The personal currency limit for import without declaration is 450,000 THB.

Extending Your Stay

If you're in Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption or tourist visa, you can apply for an extension at any Thai Immigration office. Extensions are generally 30 days for visa exemptions or up to 30 days for tourist visas, for a fee of 1,900 THB.
